Alan Cobb has been a programming consultant since 1985, focusing on
Microsoft operating systems and languages. More recently he's been
specializing in .NET programming, utilities, and debugging in C#,
managed and unmanaged C++, x86 assembler and VB. His clients have
included Oracle, Borland and Microsoft. In his spare time, he also
experiments with speech analysis and recognition technology. His
